Google is expanding its Gemini Spark AI agent to Google AI Pro subscribers in India over the next few weeks. Spark works in the background to complete routine tasks across Gmail, Docs, and Sheets, including organising information, finding events, and drafting emails. It can continue operating when a laptop is closed or a phone is locked, using Google’s cloud infrastructure. The tool is available to Google AI Ultra and Pro subscribers and is powered by Gemini 3.6 Flash. Users can decide whether to activate Spark and which apps it can access, and the tool asks for approval before high-stakes actions like spending money or sending emails. Separately, WhatsApp is rolling out new calling features, including audio and video calling on WhatsApp Web, call transfers between devices, a waiting room for group calls, and improvements to video and audio quality. WhatsApp Web calling includes screen sharing and reactions, a dedicated Calls tab, and is end-to-end encrypted with no time limits or additional cost.
