Elon Musk's xAI has been renamed to SpaceXAI, becoming a subsidiary of SpaceX, with X as a subsidiary of SpaceXAI. The change, alongside a new logo, was announced on SpaceXAI's official X account, now @SpaceXAI. SpaceX acquired xAI in February 2026, shortly before SpaceX's monster IPO in June, which propelled the company to a valuation of roughly $1.8 trillion (currently about $2.1 trillion). The acquisition was officially about Musk's idea of creating huge AI data centers in space, with plans to start demoing Starmind in late 2027 and commercial deployment in 2028.
