The average company app relies on over 900 open-source parts, and many businesses—especially those in strict, highly regulated industries—cannot easily upgrade these parts, creating a dangerous security gap with the rise of artificial intelligence. Today’s advanced AI tools allow hackers to scan old code and build working exploits to attack systems in just a few hours. By providing expert support for older software versions, HeroDevs buys engineering teams time to safely plan upgrades, handling safety maintenance externally to keep older apps secure from fast-moving AI threats while letting internal developers focus on building new features. Over time, HeroDevs plans to expand this extended support to even more open-source projects managed by the foundation.
