Google Voice has introduced an AI note-taking feature called "Take notes for me," previously available on Google Meet, which allows Gemini to record and transcribe calls. During an active call, users can tap Notes to start recording, and all participants will hear an audio disclosure confirming the call is being recorded and captured by AI. After the call ends, Gemini provides a summary with key points and action items, along with the full transcript and recording within the Voice app, and an email with a link to the notes. Notes and recordings are visible only to the user; other participants who turn on the feature get their own separate copies. The feature currently works in English and requires a Voice Standard or Premier subscription. Google is also opening standalone Voice Starter and Standard plans to anyone with a Gmail account, no Workspace subscription needed, offering unlimited calls, texting, and premium features. This is US-only for now. Additionally, Google is offering 50% off the Voice Standard plan for six months, bringing it down to $10 a month, which includes full access to the AI note-taking feature.
