HCLTech's June-quarter earnings commentary focused on AI data centres, sovereign compute, token costs, and AI infrastructure, rather than revenue or margins. The IT services giant reported record deal bookings of $2.4 billion and revenue of ₹34,579 crore ($4.14 billion), up 13.9% year-on-year, with an EBIT margin of 16.9%, up 39 basis points quarter-on-quarter. Net profit rose 20.3% year-on-year to ₹4,626 crore ($554 million). HCLTech maintained its FY27 revenue growth guidance of 1–4% in constant currency. Its Advanced AI business brought in $171 million in the quarter, up 10.6% sequentially and 62.1% year-on-year, taking its annualised run-rate to $688 million. The company announced a strategic investment plan of up to ₹3,500 crore ($420 million) to build an AI-focused data centre business, with potential to scale to 50 megawatts of capacity, marking a reversal from October last year when CEO and MD C Vijayakumar had ruled out entering the data centre business. Vijayakumar affirmed the company has not departed from its asset-light core business model, calling the move a logical extension, and noted the company is close to signing its first anchor client for the facility. HCLTech also reinforced its sovereignty pitch with a $151 million investment in Sarvam AI.
