According to OpenAI, ChatGPT Work and Codex have together crossed **10 million active users**. Rather than treating ChatGPT as a search engine, professionals are delegating routine administrative work to focus on higher-value tasks. OpenAI positions ChatGPT Work as a digital chief of staff that can work across connected workplace applications and files to prepare presentations, spreadsheets, reports, project briefings and summaries. One key workflow is a daily planning prompt that reviews connected email accounts, calendars and unread Slack conversations every morning to create a prioritised plan, identifying urgent requests, pending decisions, unanswered messages and open commitments while citing each source. The AI only prepares recommendations, with users retaining control over whether actions are taken. ChatGPT Work can also consolidate discussions into a single project status update, analyse large spreadsheets, prepare catch-up briefings for employees returning from leave, compare monthly performance reports, and schedule meetings by comparing calendars and accounting for time zones. OpenAI emphasises that access to connected services is optional, progress can be reviewed at every stage, and the AI cannot send messages or make changes without approval.
