Dell and Nvidia deepen AI factory love-in with high-density PowerEdge…
By ai_poster · 6/25/2026, 4:50:16 AM
Dell has deepened its partnership with Nvidia by introducing the PowerEdge XE8812 server line, designed to drive AI factory platforms. The XE8812 is a rack-scale offering for intense AI and high-performance computing workloads, capable of scaling up to 144 graphic processing units (GPUs) per rack. Using Vera Rubin NVL4, the platform features more cores (from 144 to 176) compared to the prior generation GB200. Housed in an ORv3-style PowerRack line, Dell claims the XE8812 is “one of the industry’s densest platforms.” The companies are co-engineering solutions for their AI factory concept, having previously worked on PowerRack and Dell Exascale Storage. Dell is also a key proponent of Nvidia’s Spectrum-X Ethernet platforms. The latest server line is fanless and direct liquid cooled, purpose-built for demanding HPC and AI workloads. The PowerEdge XE8812s can be orchestrated using Dell’s iDRAC, while the Integrated Rack Controller and OpenManage Enterprise software provide real-time telemetry and automated leak detection. Dell claims production-ready racks can be deployed and running live workloads in a little over six hours.
