Disney is exploring artificial intelligence-powered robots that could help direct parking operations and handle 3D glasses at its theme parks, following demonstrations at the Disney Accelerator Demo Day on 3 November 2026. The projects involve robotics companies FieldAI and Physical Intelligence, which have been working with Disney teams to investigate how autonomous machines could assist cast members with repetitive tasks and improve park operations. FieldAI is collaborating with Disney Experiences Technology and Walt Disney Imagineering to explore how autonomous robots could assist with parking operations; demonstration footage featured Cars-inspired robotic vehicles designed to help direct visitors through parking areas, including one resembling an orange vehicle wearing a yellow safety vest and another that was blue and displayed the words "Parking Aide" on its bonnet, both with rooftop screens capable of displaying instructions through text or images alongside illuminated arms intended to point drivers in the appropriate direction. Disney is also exploring whether FieldAI's technology could support future interactive characters, including WALL-E-inspired robots, and Gary Daniels, senior vice president of Products and Experiences at Disney Experiences Technology, discussed the possibility of bringing the character to life through robotics. The parking demonstrations remain exploratory, and Disney has not announced a deployment date for the proposed robotic assistants. Physical Intelligence is working with Walt Disney Imagineering to investigate whether adaptable robots could collect and arrange 3D glasses for cleaning between shows.
