Alphabet reported second-quarter revenue of $119.8 billion, up 24% from the same quarter last year, and net income of $34.5 billion, both beating analysts' expectations. The company reaffirmed its 2026 capital expenditures forecast of $180 billion to $190 billion, nearly double the previous year's level, with most spending directed toward AI infrastructure. CEO Sundar Pichai said investments are necessary to meet demand for Gemini and Google Cloud services, and capital expenditures are expected to continue rising through 2027. Gemini now has 950 million monthly active users, API usage has reached 22 billion tokens per minute, and nearly 90% of Fortune 100 companies use Gemini Enterprise. Discussing Israeli cybersecurity company Wiz, acquired for approximately $32 billion, Alphabet said demand for Wiz's products has exceeded initial expectations since the acquisition closed, and integrating Wiz has strengthened Google Cloud's offering and contributed to cloud revenue growth. The company reiterated that integrating Wiz is expected to continue weighing modestly on Google Cloud's profit margins during 2026. Alphabet ended the quarter with 198,933 employees, up 6% from a year earlier, and traffic acquisition costs rose 10%.
