ASUS Googlebook design revealed: Glowbar lid, Gemini key, and a $1,39…

ASUS's entry into Google's new Googlebook laptop lineup, the ASUS Googlebook CX9406, has leaked in full via eight exclusive renders published by The Mac Observer. The dark-grey machine features thin display bezels, a glowing multicolor Glowbar strip across the lid above the ASUS logo that doubles as a battery and charging status indicator, a large rectangular trackpad, a full keyboard without a numpad, speaker grilles on either side, and a "Googlebook" label on the left palm rest. A dedicated Google key sits to the left of Alt as the fast-launch trigger for Gemini AI and system functions, and a full-size USB-A port is visible on the right edge. Internal renders reveal active cooling with a fan under the right side of the keyboard and a heat pipe running toward the center of the board. The screen shows a blue desktop with a centered taskbar carrying icons for YouTube, Google Photos, and Google Play. Googlebook is a new category announced by Google in May 2026 that blends Android and ChromeOS, with Gemini AI tools including Magic Pointer and Create My Widget and deep Android phone integration.
