Dynamic Creatures, a Boston-based startup co-founded by former Boston Dynamics chief strategy officer Marc Theermann and former Robotics and AI Institute research leader Farbod Farshidian, emerged from stealth as Boston Dynamics' official entertainment and hospitality partner. The company is developing mobile, interactive character robots for theme parks, hotels, museums, and cruise ships, positioning itself between fixed animatronics and task-oriented service robots. Its SnowJay platform integrates robotics, perception, behavioral programming, and character design, while leasing models for platform-based characters aim to lower deployment costs. Theermann serves as CEO and Farshidian as chief technology officer. Backers include Eniac Ventures, Kindred Ventures, Heliad, Sunshine Lake, and BlueGrass Ventures, with angel investors Marc Raibert and Lukas Ziegler. The startup is already working with an unnamed large theme park and retailer.
