Google began rolling out its AI agent 'Gemini Spark' in Japanese on July 16, 2026. Gemini Spark is a personalized, 24/7 AI agent that can perform various tasks through natural language interaction, operating in the background for smartphones and PCs. It was initially rolled out to testers, then expanded to Google AI Ultra subscribers in the United States, and on July 16, 2026, Japanese-speaking users subscribed to Google AI Ultra also became able to use it. To use Gemini Spark, open the Gemini app and switch to 'Spark Beta' from 'Chat'. It integrates with Google Workspace, Google Photos, YouTube, and search services, allowing users to set future tasks by aggregating data acquired in the future. Gemini Spark runs on Gemini 3.5 Flash and Antigravity. As of the time of writing, it is only available within the Gemini app for Google AI Ultra users. In Japan, the 'Google AI Ultra 5x' plan costs 14,500 yen per month and the 'Google AI Ultra 20x' plan costs 32,000 yen per month.
