Safari in iOS 27 Adds Notify Me, AI Extensions, and Automatic Tab Org…

In iOS 27, Apple has focused on making Safari smarter with Apple Intelligence, adding tools to monitor webpages, automatically organize tabs, generate custom extensions, update compromised passwords, and improve browsing efficiency. The new "Notify Me" feature lets users ask Safari to monitor a webpage and alert them when something changes, such as concert ticket sales or product restocks, with options to check daily, weekly, or monthly. Apple Intelligence can now automatically organize open tabs into relevant topics via the "Automatically Create Topics" toggle in the tab overview menu. The Passwords app can use Safari to automatically update weak or compromised passwords on supported websites, handling the process with minimal user input. A new "Describe an Extension" option lets users describe desired functionality for Safari to generate a browser extension, with suggested templates in categories like Boost Productivity and Improve Focus, requiring an Apple Intelligence-compatible iPhone. The Safari Start Page has been redesigned with a "Resume Browsing" section for recently closed tabs and pages open on other Apple devices, plus dedicated tabs for Favorites, Bookmarks, Reading List, and History. Bookmarks and Reading List items can now be organized by topic. Safari also lets users long-press an image and choose the Siri option to use Apple Intelligence for additional information about the image without leaving the browser.
