Healthcare AI company Innovaccer has signed a multiyear agreement with Amazon Web Services to help health systems and insurers move AI projects from testing into daily use. The deal combines Innovaccer’s healthcare data and AI software with AWS infrastructure, allowing customers to purchase Innovaccer products through the AWS Marketplace using committed AWS funds. Innovaccer will use Amazon Bedrock for AI model development and AWS HealthLake to work with health data in FHIR format. The companies plan to focus on AI agents that automate administrative work while meeting security, compliance, and reliability requirements. The marketplace arrangement has already been used by Community Care of North Carolina, a network managing care for more than one million people. “Working through AWS Marketplace cut out the usual procurement drag, letting us focus on implementation from day one,” said Sam Hiatt, the network’s Director of Medicare Program Operations. Innovaccer says administrative work consumes nearly 40 cents of every dollar spent by U.S. hospitals. “Healthcare AI has a production problem, not an innovation problem,” said Innovaccer Co-Founder and CEO Abhinav Shashank. The companies did not disclose the financial terms.
