Key issues discussed included AI governance and global standards, with support for an international forum for safety standards; access to advanced AI models, including a possible "trusted partners" framework; AI as a national security issue affecting cybersecurity, critical infrastructure, military capabilities, intelligence gathering, and economic competitiveness; AI infrastructure and energy needs regarding data centers, computing capacity, semiconductor supply chains, and electricity demand; AI safety and online protection concerning minors, misinformation, deepfakes, and content moderation; and economic transformation and labour markets, with G7 leaders agreeing that regulators, finance officials, and economists should study AI's long-term effects on labour markets.
