An Indian student from Hyderabad was stopped from boarding a flight to New York at Amsterdam airport on June 24, 2026, after authorities discovered that his F-1 student visa had reportedly been revoked months earlier. The student said he was unaware of the cancellation and was sent back to India. He had originally entered the United States in January 2025 on an F-1 visa, which was reportedly revoked in July 2025. While preparing to board a connecting flight to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport, US Customs and Border Protection officials informed him his visa was no longer valid. Officials advised him to contact the nearest US consulate. The student had no idea his visa had been revoked, stating he had not been involved in any criminal case, drunk-driving incident, traffic violation, or any activity that could have alerted him. After the incident, his university informed him that his Form I-20 and SEVIS records were still active and in good standing.
