A Bloomberg report indicated that Meta Platforms Inc. (NASDAQ:META) is developing plans to build a cloud infrastructure business to sell access to AI computing power and models to outside customers, raising fears that deep-pocketed tech giants could compress pricing across the neocloud sector. Additionally, Reuters reported that Chinese startup DeepSeek is developing its own AI inference chip, a development that could reduce demand for the type of compute infrastructure neoclouds like CoreWeave are building.
