I moved my ChatGPT context to Claude — and it actually worked

SkillSync is a tool designed to move ChatGPT conversations to Claude, or Claude conversations back to ChatGPT, rather than abandoning context when switching AI assistants. The author tested it by moving a real ChatGPT conversation of about 20 messages containing a detailed project brief, specific tone instructions and several formatting rules into Claude, then asked Claude to draft the next section based on the established structure without explaining its origin or summarizing the discussion. Claude picked up instructions from earlier in the ChatGPT conversation and continued without asking for re-explanation, feeling like a continuation of the same conversation. Markdown headers, lists and code blocks came across intact, which is useful for longer conversations where manual copying becomes messy. One important limitation is that attachments don't make the trip in the same way, which the author called a real bummer because of always uploading drafts of manuscripts and research.
