Naver has outlined its AI Factory project, which involves equity investments from Nvidia and Brookfield. Nvidia will invest $1 billion in Naver, and Naver will establish a 100% subsidiary AI factory operator. Brookfield will invest $9 billion through a Special Purpose Corporation (SPV) to secure GPUs and data center facilities. Naver will receive computing resources from the SPV and pay costs based on usage, saving initial investment funds. The SPV investment is expected to be confirmed during the 12-week negotiation period; if negotiations fail, Naver will resume discussions with other investors. Naver plans to secure profits by selling computing resources to external customers and is considering acquiring a part of its stake in Brookfield's SPV. The announcement was made on the 3rd, detailing the first step of the project, which is the 200MW initial stage among the 1GW projects announced in June. Naver stated that Nvidia's equity investment will help maintain a stable GPU supply chain, as securing GPUs has become increasingly difficult due to soaring AI demand. Nvidia will also expand its GPU ecosystem through Naver.
