A new study from GoHumanize identifies several high-paying, AI-resistant careers that do not require a four-year university degree. Air traffic control topped the study's AI-resistance ranking with a score of 75 out of 100, as only around 25% of the job is exposed to automation. The role earns a median salary of around $144,000 (£113,000) a year and typically requires an associate's degree. Commercial piloting scored 66 out of 100 for AI resistance, with annual earnings of around $122,670 (£96,000), and employment expected to grow steadily through 2034. For roles accessible with a high school diploma, elevator and escalator installers and repairers earn an average salary of around $106,000 (£83,000), with an estimated 45% of tasks potentially automatable. First-line supervisors of police and detectives scored 87.5 out of 100 for AI resistance, earning close to $106,000 a year.
