OpenAI is expanding its ad pilot to France, Germany, Ireland and Singapore, less than three weeks after officially launching in the U.K., according to its careers page. The company is hiring a regional manager, ads solutions (EMEA), requiring a minimum of 15 years experience, to lead and scale the ad business across Europe, with the role based in Dublin or London. OpenAI is also seeking a regional client partner and a customer success manager in Paris, Munich and Dublin, as well as the same three roles in Singapore. The additions would bring the ad pilot to 10 markets globally. OpenAI launched the program in the U.S. in February, expanding to Canada, Australia and New Zealand in March, and the U.K., Japan, South Korea, Mexico and Brazil in June. Advertisers in launched markets can buy ads via OpenAI reps or agency and adtech partners like Criteo and StackAdapt, while those in the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the U.K., Japan and South Korea can also use the beta self-serve ads manager. OpenAI is still only asking for test budgets. In Europe, the rollout now covers the U.K., France and Germany, which together accounted for 62% of the continent’s digital ad market.
