LSU’s Tiger Heat Stomp N’ Shake Cheer Team hosted “Study Smarter, Not Harder: AI & Academics” on Wednesday night in the LSU student union in Baton Rouge, La., to help students incorporate Microsoft Copilot into their academic routines. The session was led by Samiryah Branch, Tiger Heat vice president, Microsoft Copilot campus ambassador and a junior majoring in mass communication, who said keeping up with assignments is especially important for students involved in organizations and that Copilot can help them better organize and use resources to stay on top of their work. Branch explained that rather than letting the program do all the work, students can use Microsoft Copilot to create study guides, get practice questions and have topics explained, and she showed how entering upcoming exams, homework and available study time can produce a helpful schedule. After teaching students about Copilot, Branch gave them five minutes to enter information from a class. Gernesha Sylvester, a junior finance major and Tiger Heat president, said the organization wants to provide more opportunities for members outside of cheering. Kennedy Mosley, a sophomore kinesiology major and Tiger Heat member, attended to show support and learn more about Microsoft Copilot.
