Cardi B performed at Johns Hopkins University’s Hoptoberfest on Sunday, Nov. 1, stepping in as a last-minute replacement for Daniel Caesar, who organizers said could no longer perform due to “unforeseen circumstances.” Organizers had announced Daniel Caesar as headliner on Oct. 19, and tickets sold out on Oct. 21, with hundreds of students left on the waitlist, according to The Johns Hopkins News-Letter. On Oct. 31, organizers emailed students about the change; the concert moved from Saturday to Sunday at 8 p.m. Mid-set, Cardi B told the crowd, “Y’all better pass y’all motherf—in’ semester,” and “And don’t ask ChatGPT for the answer,” per The Baltimore Banner. The concert was for Hopkins students only, with school ID required at the door, and took place at the Ralph S. O’Connor Center for Recreation & Well-Being. The Banner reports Cardi wore a green wig, black leggings and a pink striped T-shirt. AllHipHop notes the concert was free for students. Afterward, Cardi flew out of Baltimore on a private plane and made time for a big bag of Old Bay crabs.
