KT Urges Open AI Trust Standards
By ai_poster · 7/9/2026, 3:31:44 PM
KT participated in a roundtable session at the ‘AI for Good Global Summit’ held in Geneva, Switzerland, on July 7, hosted by the ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector, a UN agency. At the event, KT proposed securing a ‘Trust primitive’ as a core task in the era of agent AI, including ‘identity’ to prove who owns the agent, ‘consent’ to define the scope of permitted activities, and ‘verifiability’ to prove the appropriateness of actions. KT emphasized that this trust system must avoid a closed structure dependent on a specific platform and be built on open interoperable standards and a neutral trust infrastructure. On the same day, KT also participated in the ‘Global AI Governance Dialogue’ hosted by the UN, attended by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Professor Yoshua Bengio, where KT introduced its AI policy and governance framework. KT is minimizing side effects by applying prevention, protection, and monitoring systems to services such as the Genie TV AI agent. KT clarified that UN human rights principles must be maintained as AI advances, and expressed willingness to collaborate with the UN to jointly create a global AI safety system. Park Wan-jin, Vice President of KT AX Future Technology Research Institute, stated that KT is both an AI model developer and an operator capable of providing a neutral trust infrastructure.
