In 1984, the personal computer existed, but almost nobody could use it because no operating system abstracted the complexity away from the user. When that layer arrived, first with the Mac, then at scale with Windows, it caused a civilizational shift in who could participate in computing. The article argues that enterprise AI is at an identical inflection point, stating that the problem is not a capability problem but an operating system problem. Deploying genuine agentic AI in an enterprise requires a team of ML engineers, a platform engineering team, a security team, and months of custom development before a single business outcome is produced. The capability is there, but the accessibility isn't. An Agentic OS for the enterprise does structurally the same thing Windows did, creating a standard environment where any application could be built, any user could learn, and any hardware manufacturer could participate. It removes the ML expertise.
