Construction on the world’s largest data center yet in Richland Parish, Louisiana, has led to an uptick in sales and services for local businesses. Will Dear, owner of Rayville Tire & Service Center and lifelong resident, reported that the effect has been positive, allowing his business to expand further than he had previously imagined. Since construction started, Dear has hired a lot more employees and more managers to help run things, describing the pace as "non-stop" and "moving a lot faster than anything I’ve seen in my life." He noted that vehicles can now be serviced faster, sometimes in and out by lunch, compared to previous delays of a couple of days for parts. His inventory has adapted to stock tires for every type of construction vehicle, and toolboxes are kept well stocked with emergency lights used daily. Dear emphasized that the project is helping everyone out, not just his local tire shop, and that he has learned more about business in the past year than in his entire life, gaining contacts he expects to carry into the next chapter.
