Paradigm released a web game, the RSI Simulator, to demonstrate the economics of AI research and development, where players act as an AI lab investing labor, compute, and data into R&D to bootstrap an artificial superintelligence. Inspired by the paper "The Economics of Recursive Self-Improvement" from the Elasticity Institute, the game uses actual economic models but calibrates parameters for pedagogy, not predictive accuracy.
