Artificial intelligence companies leased more London office space in the first half of 2026 than during the whole of last year, according to new data from Knight Frank. AI businesses took 661,068 sq ft across the capital between January and June, surpassing the 500,000 sq ft recorded in 2025. Since the start of last year, AI companies have committed to almost 1.2m sq ft of London office space. Knight Frank expects take-up to reach around 1m sq ft by the end of 2026, which would be double last year’s total and four times the level recorded in 2024. The growth was driven by fast-growing firms moving from flexible workspace into large permanent headquarters.
