GMO Internet Group has unveiled a "Humanoid Ambulance," described as the country's – and arguably the world's – first dedicated vehicle for humanoid maintenance and troubleshooting, to roll out this month. The ambulance resembles a conventional van-style ambulance, with custom exterior graphics spelling out its specialization, and travels with a GMO humanoid robot engineer on board. It comes from the AI and robotics division of GMO Internet Group, which supplies robots from manufacturers like China's Unitree and facilitates allied services. The ambulance is meant to service bots sold by GMO, with a trained engineer on board to rectify issues; if a malfunctioning robot can't be fixed on the premises during a house call, the service will haul it to a repair facility and provide a replacement unit. Earlier this year, GMO partnered with Japan Airlines to have humanoid robots assist ground support staff handling baggage and operating equipment at Tokyo's Haneda Airport.
