The 20th Iran Open RoboCup concluded in Tehran, bringing together more than 700 teams and around 2,000 participants. The five-day event began on September 16 at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosalla with the support of the Vice Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, featuring competitions in robotics, artificial intelligence, autonomous vehicles, aerial robots, rescue systems, service robots, robot soccer, and robot design and construction, plus categories for different age groups. A special category for elementary school students was introduced for the first time this year, attracting around 130 teams. In the autonomous vehicle league, AURIGA claimed first place, followed by ROBOTIX IRAN and SADRA ROBOT; AURIGA also secured the top position in the service robots in work league. YRA took first place in the aerial robots league, while MRL finished second, and Encanto won the under-18 aerial robots category. Cambyses I took first place in the over-18 division of the two-dimensional soccer simulation league, while AITech-2D topped the under-18 category. RRL won first place in the product category, while Aria Robotic 11 took the top spot in the ideas category. Iranian teams have been active in RoboCup competitions since 2003, and the inaugural Iran Open was held in April 2006, featuring 116 teams across seven leagues. At the RoboCup 2026 World
