Anthropic's H-1B visa filings have revealed extreme salary figures in the AI industry, with the highest base pay reaching $1.38 million (around Rs 11 crore). The data, from H-1B visa filings reviewed by Business Insider, shows two employees earning over $1 million in base salary: one offered $1.12 million and another set to receive $1.38 million. Both are identified only as "Member of Technical Staff." The filings, which only disclose base salaries and not stock options or bonuses, come from nearly 80 H-1B visa positions certified during the first half of the US fiscal year 2026. The timing is notable as competition for AI experts intensifies among companies including Meta, Google and OpenAI. Following its reported $965 billion valuation in May, stock options held by many employees could now be worth far more. The filings also show that Members of Technical Staff are offered between $133,952 and $1.38 million in base pay, while Managers can earn up to $850,000 and Reinforcement Learning Researchers between $112,778 and $500,000.
