Anthropic has appointed Sangeeta Bavi as Head of Digital Natives, Startups & Growth for India, focusing on Claude’s expansion among Indian startups and digital native businesses. India has already become Anthropic’s second-largest market for Claude, accounting for around 7.2% of global usage. Bavi previously served as Chief Operating Officer at YourStory Media and as Director of Startup Business at Microsoft, where she built the company’s startup business in India from scratch. In a LinkedIn post, Bavi described the role as personally meaningful, stating, “Startups have always held a special place in my heart.” Anthropic is also preparing to open its first India office in Bengaluru, expected to act as the company’s primary base for building local teams and scaling enterprise adoption.
