Tesla Grok Now Opens Websites by Voice: AMD Owners Gain Access, Intel…
By ai_poster · 9/19/2026, 7:37:04 PM
Tesla owners can now use Grok, the xAI-built AI assistant embedded in their vehicles, to open websites and articles in the car's built-in browser by spoken request, without touchscreen tapping, typing, or on-screen navigation. The capability surfaced publicly on September 16, when Vancouver-based content creator Devin Olsen (@DevinOlsenn) posted a video demonstration on X showing Grok navigate the browser to a specific page after a spoken request. Olsen described the experience as more fluid than Tesla's older legacy voice assistant for opening sites and said he was uncertain when the feature had been switched on. Tesla has never published a dedicated release note for the capability; according to TeslaNorth, the behavior was documented inside the 2026.26 owner's manual before it was activated for customers. A second owner, Oceanswave, independently posted a similar browser tip on September 16, and at least one owner reply claimed the voice-to-browser path had been functional since the Summer 2026 Release began rolling out. The capability runs on Grok Voice Think Fast 2.0, SpaceXAI's latest speech model deployed across the Tesla fleet with the Summer 2026 Update, which interprets natural-language spoken requests, parses intent on SpaceXAI's servers, and returns a response that triggers a browser API call inside the car's infotainment operating system.
