On July 27, Tencent QQ announced the official relaunch, allowing users to re-adopt it by searching for 'QQ Pet' in the mobile QQ app. The new version retains classic nurturing gameplay while featuring a 3D visual upgrade and integration with Tencent’s HunYuan Hy3 large language model. The pet now has distinct personality traits, enabling proactive interaction, recording daily life events, generating personalized pet diaries, and integrating into QQ chats. Users can choose personalities such as 'Sunshine,' 'Clingy One,' 'Mischief Maker,' or 'Drama Queen.' The new version features fully 3D-rendered characters, including the classic penguin and new species like dogs and 'Suantou Geese.' The pet can now appear directly within the chat interface, bouncing inside message boxes and interacting with friends’ pets. QQ Pet was launched in 2005 and was one of the most successful virtual pet-raising products in China’s internet history.
