Google and Gemini have introduced tools to help users follow the FIFA World Cup 2026, which kicks off across North America. One feature allows users to pin a match’s live score directly to an Android or iOS device’s lock screen by searching for a team or match on Google and tapping to “follow” them, providing automatic updates before and after each game. Another tool, AI Mode in Search, can settle arguments about football rules or player stats by answering complex questions and creating interactive visuals, such as a breakdown of soccer formations. These interactive features are currently available to Pro and Ultra subscribers but will be free for everyone in Search by the summer.
