OpenAI and Anthropic executives exchanged cheeky remarks on X after a user said his Anthropic account was suspended. The user, Alex Getman, claimed the suspension followed his use of instructions shared by OpenAI Codex chief Thibault ‘Tibo’ Sottiaux to use GPT-5.6 Sol through Claude Code. Tibo responded, saying he does not work at Anthropic and questioning the ban. Anthropic executive Boris Cherny clarified the company does not suspend users for running other models through its harness, attributing the suspension to a different account classifier, and suggested Tibo join Anthropic. Tibo replied with praise for GPT-5.6 Sol and announced a reset of usage limits for all paid users of ChatGPT Work and Codex. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman reacted, writing, “lol another one of the things i like most about openai is tibo,” and added, “one of the things I like most about the openai team is how focused they are on our customers and users succeeding, and how much they celebrate it.”
