In a post on X, Levie stated that "there's still so much opportunity in the diffusion of AI into the real world," adding that most enterprises will require help applying AI breakthroughs to their operations. He argued that AI capabilities alone are not enough because companies need systems that connect AI with real-world feedback loops. Levie said successful AI adoption will require integrations with enterprise systems, access to relevant data, user experiences that allow human decision-making, workflows that continuously improve models and data, and solutions addressing regulatory and compliance requirements. He noted that "the way you implement AI agents for doing client onboarding in a bank is entirely different from contract review in a legal team," and that industries such as financial services, life sciences, legal and manufacturing will only benefit from AI when applied contextually. Levie described this as an "applied AI layer" that will create opportunities for companies specializing in bringing AI into specific industries.
