Rotterdam Dockers, one of six franchises in the first European T20 Premier League (ETPL), an ICC-sanctioned T20 franchise league, announced that Fireflies.ai and Krish Ramineni have joined the franchise as founding investors. Cricket greats Jonty Rhodes, Faf du Plessis, Heinrich Klaasen, and Bollywood actor and sports entrepreneur John Abraham will join him as co-owners, with Madhukar Shree serving as the team’s managing director. Fireflies.ai is an AI productivity platform trusted by over 20 million users and 75% of the Fortune 500. Ramineni, Founder and CEO of Fireflies.ai, is an early investor in businesses such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity, and SpaceX. The investment is another big step forward for Rotterdam Dockers as the franchise works to reinforce its long-term objective of integrating global commercial leadership with sports excellence ahead of the inaugural ETPL season. Klaasen welcomed Ramineni, citing his passion for cricket and his journey in building a leading AI company. Shree noted that Ramineni’s investment brings expertise in scaling global technology businesses and driving innovation. Ramineni said becoming a founding investor feels special for Fireflies, adding that Europe has a real opportunity to build something massive around cricket. Rotterdam Dockers are one of the six founding franchises of the ETPL, a competition designed to boost the growth of cricket in Ireland, Scotland, and the Netherlands
