Xero has announced a new integration with Google Gemini aimed at bringing live financial intelligence and Xero data directly into Gemini conversations. Akankshu Dhawan, SVP Product and Tech at Xero, told AI Magazine that by offering integrations with Google Gemini, Microsoft 365, Claude, Claude for Small Business and ChatGPT, Xero sees an opportunity to further reduce the administrative burden for customers, giving business owners more time to grow their businesses and advisors more time to deliver valuable advice. According to a McKinsey survey of 102 CFOs, 65% said their organisations would increase gen AI investment in 2025; two years ago, only about a quarter of respondents said the same. With the connected app for Gemini, Xero highlights customers will be able to retrieve real-time financial answers, analyse business performance, and complete routine tasks without switching between applications or losing financial context. Paul Migliorini, VP Google Cloud, Australia and New Zealand, wrote on LinkedIn that connecting live financial data securely into Gemini lets business owners and advisors monitor cash flow, ask questions about profit and loss, track payables, and generate interactive visual reports without jumping between applications or breaking momentum. Dhawan said Xero is a trusted global system of record for 5 million customers across 180+ countries.
