Google announced updates for Gemini Spark, bringing the assistant to the Mac desktop app. Spark can now interact with desktop files and apps, such as sorting documents from a Downloads folder into proper folders, and can work with Google Workspace to create a budget spreadsheet using invoices. Users will soon be able to fire off tasks from a phone for Spark to do on a Mac remotely. Spark now connects with Google Tasks, Google Keep, Canva, Dropbox, Instacart, OpenTable, and Zillow Rentals. According to Google, these connections roll out over the next week on web and mobile, with macOS following shortly after. Spark can also watch topics and react to events, sending a notification instantly when something like match highlights or a stock hitting a certain price occurs.
