Runway launched Runway Dev plugins for Claude Code, Codex and Cursor, connecting a coding agent to a Runway Dev account through the Runway Dev MCP and adding Runway's skills for building with the API in one install. The agent can read the account, including available projects, the models each project can use with their prices and limits, and the credit balance. Runway's skills show the agent how to build with the official SDKs and which Runway Dev tool fits each job; the agent can create a Model Router to pick the right model for each request or a Character for real-time avatars from the editor, and for common use cases it builds on Recipes or on Workflows teams have published as API endpoints in the Runway app. When a task fails, the agent looks up error details and sees why a Model Router picked a given model. Users sign in with their Runway Dev account the first time the agent uses the plugin, and no API key is stored in the plugin. Runway Dev is built for anyone who ships by directing a coding agent, from indie developers and technical founders to product engineers and product managers.
