Microsoft's legal department will use the Harvey platform, as announced by legal AI company Harvey. Microsoft's Corporate, External, and Legal Affairs (CELA) organization, a roughly 2,000-person unit, will use Harvey to support its legal and compliance operations. In the same announcement, Harvey said it will expand its internal use of Microsoft 365 and Microsoft 365 Copilot. Harvey CEO Winston Weinberg stated that the announcement represents "the next step in our ongoing relationship." Antony Cook, corporate vice president and deputy general counsel at Microsoft, said the company is "pleased to expand our work with Harvey." The announcement is the latest step in a relationship building for several years; Harvey runs on Microsoft's Azure infrastructure, and in December 2024 the two companies announced integrations connecting Harvey with SharePoint, Word and Microsoft 365 Copilot. In March, Harvey built its legal intelligence into Microsoft 365 Copilot as an agent, and in June extended that to Copilot Cowork.
