Nivo has launched Nivo Collect, an off-the-shelf AI assistant for mortgage broking that gathers documents, checks them, chases missing items, and packages everything for submission. Brokers email in a case and the assistant works over email under the brokerage's own brand, allowing firms to benefit from AI in hours rather than months. Matthew Elliott of Nivo says the biggest challenge is not that brokers don't understand AI, but that they lack time to become AI developers or appetite for lengthy implementation. He advises brokers to ask where their people spend time they shouldn't, rather than where to use AI, warning that if AI simply makes bad processes happen faster, you've not solved anything. The real opportunity is removing work altogether, creating capacity rather than just improving efficiency. Research shows the biggest operational bottleneck is document collection, as one missing payslip or incomplete bank statement can trigger another round of emails, another delay, and another check, leading to 15 or 20 rounds of communication around a straightforward case. Nivo Collect focuses on the front end of the mortgage journey, moving checking and evidence gathering to the start of the process. Unlike most AI products that expect customers to build something, Nivo Collect has the operational process already built, and brokers can start realising benefits within a couple of hours.
