Starting on the 3rd, Woowa Brothers, the operator of Baemin, will introduce a new delivery robot model (Dilly X3-R 1.4) to the delivery site of Baemin B Mart's robot. The new model features eco-friendly lightweight materials and enhanced performance. Instead of conventional plastics, it uses highly recyclable and lightweight foamed polypropylene (EPP), which is resistant to heat and shock and has excellent thermal and cooling functions. The body weight was reduced by about 8% compared to the previous model. Under the Intelligent Robot Act, existing models exceeding 100kg were limited to 10km/h, but the new model meets the conditions of less than 100kg and can achieve a maximum speed of 15km/h. Self-driving awareness and safety have been strengthened through added and improved CPUs, cameras, and sensors, including new rear cameras. In July, Baemin completed preparations by obtaining operation safety certification from the Korea Robot Industry Promotion Agency (KIRIA). Since February last year, Baemin has been piloting robot delivery to the first floor of buildings when the minimum order amount is met, centering on the Gangnam Nonhyeon branch. More than 99% of the total driving distance is self-driving, with an average delivery time of around 25 minutes even in bad weather. Robot delivery orders as of June increased by 240% compared to the previous period.
