Microsoft has the highest-quality balance sheet in the group, with about $36.5 billion in net cash and no asterisks. Alphabet holds the largest reserves of the five, though roughly $80 billion of it is restricted SpaceX stock rather than deployable cash. Amazon carries a small net debt, but roughly $161 billion in annual operating cash flow makes that a choice rather than a strain. Microsoft has about $20.9 billion in cash equivalents, another $55.9 billion in short-term investments, just $40.3 billion of debt, and $19.6 billion in fresh free cash flow refilling it in the recently reported Q4 2026. Alphabet has roughly $242.5 billion of liquid assets, with about $80 billion of it being SpaceExploration Technologies stock, and $98.2 billion of long-term debt, leaving a cash-minus-debt cushion closer to $64 billion. Amazon's $123 billion in cash and short-term investments can't quite match its $133 billion in long-term debt, but roughly $161 billion of operating cash flow per year makes the debt a choice. Meta Platforms has only about $6.6 billion of net cash, with $90.3 billion of cash-style assets and $83.7 billion of long-term debt, and its dividend now costs more than the free cash flow coming in. Oracle has the skimpiest cash reserve of this group.
