According to the 'AI Search Trend Report 2026' released by data consulting firm OpenSurvey on the 13th, Google's AI model 'Gemini' has surpassed OpenAI's 'ChatGPT' in South Korea's AI search market in key indicators such as primary usage rate, satisfaction, and willingness to convert to a paid subscription. The percentage of respondents who reported using Gemini as a search service within the last three months reached 52.2%, a surge of 23.3 percentage points from 28.9% last December. During the same period, ChatGPT's usage experience rate rose by 3.6 percentage points from 54.5% to 58.1%, narrowing the overall gap from 25.6 to 5.9 percentage points. In the survey for the 'most frequently used search service,' Gemini ranked fourth with 9.1%, a 6.5 percentage point increase, while ChatGPT rose by 1.5 percentage points to 8.7%, remaining in fifth place. Willingness to pay for Gemini increased by 3.6 percentage points to 42.1%, while ChatGPT's willingness plummeted by 14.1 percentage points from 53.5% to 39.4%.
