Google is rolling out a new Gemini upgrade for Google Sheets that helps users figure out why a formula isn’t working and suggests a fix automatically. When Sheets detects a formula error, users will see a new Fix button; clicking it opens the Gemini sidebar, where the AI explains the issue in plain language and suggests a corrected version of the formula. Gemini can analyse both the formula and surrounding cells to explain what went wrong and how to fix it, addressing cryptic errors like #REF!, #VALUE!, and #N/A. Google says the tool can help with everything from simple calculations to more advanced formulas. The upgraded Gemini experience is rolling out now to Business, Enterprise, Education, AI Pro, and AI Ultra subscribers. Google is also temporarily increasing usage limits until 15 July 2026, giving users more opportunities to try the new functionality; after that date, standard usage limits will return, with expanded allowances reserved for users on AI Expanded Access licences. The update arrives just over a month after Google added custom instructions to Gemini in Docs.
