Microsoft is expanding Microsoft 365 Copilot on iPad by bringing a feature that lets users collaborate with Copilot directly inside Word documents, eliminating the need to switch between apps. The feature, already available on desktop, web, Android, and iPhone, is now rolling out to iPad users as part of the Microsoft 365 Insider program. Copilot acts as an AI co-author, allowing users to highlight text or place a cursor and ask Copilot to generate content, rewrite paragraphs, expand or shorten text, and improve grammar, tone, and readability. The feature is currently available to Microsoft 365 Insiders using Word for iPad Version 2.99 (Build 25070219) or later, an iPad running iPadOS 18 or newer, and a Microsoft 365 Copilot license for work or school accounts. Microsoft notes the rollout is gradual, so not every Insider will receive the feature immediately.
