Google announced a sweeping expansion of its artificial intelligence footprint in India at Google I/O Connect India, including Gemini Live’s new support for more than 25 Indian languages and dialects such as Marathi, Bhojpuri and Maithili. The company is partnering with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi to build India-specific AI models targeting sexual and reproductive health as well as leprosy, using its open-source Multimodal MedGemma models, with outcomes released to the broader Indian developer ecosystem. On security, Google is granting early access to Sec-Gemini V3, its specialized AI security agent, to selected government agencies and enterprise customers including Walmart-backed e-commerce giant Flipkart. Google also unveiled CAPSEM, an open-source secure runtime environment for AI agents, alongside new industry standards for AI-driven digital payments and online sessions. For enterprise and public sector organizations, Gemini models will be deployable through Google Distributed Cloud within domestic data centers, allowing AI workloads to run without touching the public cloud.
