Meta Acquires AI Coding Startup Conductor | PYMNTS.com
By ai_poster · 11/5/2026, 2:28:50 PM
Meta has acquired artificial intelligence coding startup Conductor, Axios reported Wednesday (Nov. 4), according to PYMNTS. Conductor enables software engineers to manage multiple coding agents at the same time, and the acquisition will help Meta’s own models and ecosystem compete for coders. Conductor Founder and CEO Charlie Holtz said in a Wednesday post on X that Conductor is joining Meta, adding that the company has “some big, crazy plans for the next interface” and that it is excited to work with Nat Friedman and Meta Chief AI Officer Alexandr Wang at Meta Superintelligence Labs. Wang replied to Holtz’s post, saying, “welcome folks!” In a changelog post on the Conductor site, the company said its products will be wound down over the coming weeks and months. In an announcement on the Conductor site, Holtz said he launched Conductor in July 2025. PYMNTS reported in May that the AI coding boom has changed the economics of software creation by lowering the cost of production and dramatically increasing iteration speed. Meta said in August that it released a terminal coding agent called Muse Code in beta, and when announcing its Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full frontier models in October, Meta said they bring “frontier coding performance for people building everything from a game to an app for a new business.”
